Although I have never had to utilize one (knock on wood) any extra fuel, mainly due to the size of my tank 6.5 gal.
I do carry a Kolpin Flat pack. These packs come in 2 flavors.
Red for fuel and clear or white for water.
They mount directly to the front or rear racks with velcro (really sticky stuff) and seem to hold 'the packs in place fairly well. I also put a few bungies on to really secure those suckers.
Kolpin also sells mounting brackets for both designs. Either the full size pack or the "Jr.". The full size holds 3.2 gal while jr. hold 1.25 gal..
Although they are a bit pricey @ anywhere from $88-91 I feel they are worht the price. they take up little space while allowing other items to be placed on top of them allowing for no real loss in storage space.
